We are Parc an Colan allotment association situated in the Cornish village of Quintrell Downs.
We were formed in September 2016 and currently have 30 half plots and five quarter plots with one of the half plots used as a community hub and garden.
Our ethos is growing fruit, flowers and vegetables organically on our individual plots, encouraging bees and insects to thrive. We are keen to make the most of the communal spaces and borders, so far we have planted an orchard and hedging around the perimeters. We have ongoing projects which will help us sustain a balanced environment for the wildlife around the allotments.
We hold monthly working parties to concentrate on the communal garden, orchard and surrounding green boundaries, it’s a great way to meet other plot holders and have some fun while working hard to make the environment attractive and productive.
We also hold social events where we get together for fun, drinks and home baking.
